| If you ever happen to be passing through the small town of Pikeville, Kentucky, you might want to stop by 159 Phyllis Lane. At first, all you will notice is a small faded yellow building seemingly in the middle of nowhere, but step inside and you will see the worn out heavy bags and makeshift training equipment. Come in around 5 or 6 o'clock and you will probably hear the voice of one of the best boxing trainers anywhere. Look toward the ring and you will most likely see people of all ages either engaged in a sparring match or in 15 to 20 minute shadowboxing routines. And at the edge of the ring keeping a constant visual over his pupils, barking out instructions, standing like a general watching his troops prepare for battle will be Mayfield Pennington. |
